Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.

Welcome

My name is Bree Bonchay, and I am a licensed psychotherapist, with two decades of experience working in the field of mental health and trauma recovery. I specialize in helping people get unstuck, heal from interpersonal trauma, and free themselves from toxic relationships. In early 2016, I founded World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day, which is recognized every June 1st, and that same year I held the first narcissistic abuse recovery summit with the mission of raising awareness about the devastating impacts of narcissistic abuse, providing public pathology education and free trauma recovery resources to survivors around the globe.

Since then, the World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day Summits have been an annual lifeline and symbol of hope and solidarity to survivors everywhere. I’m also the author of the book, “I Am Free: Healing Stories of Surviving Toxic Relationships with Narcissists and Sociopaths” and I share my insights about narcissistic abuse in my blog, freefromtoxic.

Professional Affiliations:
Board Member, The Association for NPD/Psychopathy Educators & Survivor Treatment
Member, International Association of Trauma Specialists.

Even though a relationship with a pathological person forever changes you, pain and suffering can be relieved. Trauma and loss can be transformed. What is confusing can be understood. What has been lost can be rebuilt even better than it was before.

Through a blend of modalities, including the latest trauma-focused techniques and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral treatments, I work with my clients to resolve their cognitive dissonance, regulate their over-active nervous systems, decrease their ruminations and obsessive thinking, improve their mood and sense of well-being, identify their personality traits and behaviors that put them at risk in the presence of pathological individuals, strengthen their boundaries, and reclaim their lives so they can go on to have more fulfilling and satisfying interpersonal relationships.
